Categorising title sequences

There are 4 title sequences that can be identified ;
1 Titles on a blank screen
2 Titles on still images
3 Titles over moving images
4 Titles using animation or motion

1- is generally white type surface used in a black background to create contrast , these were mainly used in the first use of production , these were low budgeted but was an uncomplicated way to present information such as ident , directors and film title.
Example is PSYCO ; standard white text on a black back ground which related to the common features of this category.

2- main conventions were elaborate , developed to include hand drawn borders and other images to make it more sophicatsd , credits were getting longer and studios starting supporting development of title sequences and the benefits to the productions and directors. Title sequences started using different media backgrounds, these features and media created tone to the film makin it more interesting to the viewers

3- Titles with moving images going across the film footage, there was metaphors and narrative threads that could be used on the film which made the film more interesting and relatable.
Examples , are slow but very graphically , typography was too hard on top of the content but was intriguing , however can be very hard to read .
Example 2, had fast movement , sounds of the city , text/typography was easy to read

4- Titles themselves becames part of the the moving image and a general feature of all titles sequences , this category required a lot of digital tech and stylised editing. This allowed editors and creators to make a film more reconisable and unique , and they could create new fonts to used the target audience , tone and film.
Example is JAMES BOND ; theme were demo started clearly , colour contrasted and music correlated to the scenes , the opening sequence was intriguing to viewers
